I’ve heard that many senior pilots get involved with other careers and investment in their spare time and I also know of pilots who treat their job as a pilot as part time. Im just wondering how does the schedule of an airline pilot change from a new young pilot to an older senior captain, such as hours per shift, shifts per week, weeks per month etc. I would prefer this question to be answered by real pilots not sim flyer’s who think they’re pilots lol, cheers.

I’m a junior in high school with my ppl and instrument rating, and i want to be an airline pilot!
So, would it be best to go to a big aviation school like Embry Riddle or UND and earn my commercial/multiengine/etc. there? Or pursue a math degree and earn my ratings independently?
Are there other options?
Oh, and military isn’t an option because of my vision…

I am 23 years of age and have just signed on for a 1 year course getting my commercial pilot lic and also my instrument rating. My dream is to be a airline pilot but I am feeling as if though that maybe extremely hard if not impossible because I am not coming from the air force. My question is does anybody know someone who made it following the same path as I am? I do realise I still need 1500hours after my commercial lic before I can apply for airline.
